One pound of air, considered as a perfect gas, occupies 14 ft3 at a temperature of 540°R at state 1. In process 1-2 the system is compressed isothermally to a final volume of 7 ft3. It is then heated at constant pressure during process 2-3 until its final volume is 14 ft3. A constant volume closure returns the air to its original state. Find the work for each process and the net work of the cycle.
